Anthems are Tricky

So since when did Waltzing Matilda become the anthem for Australia? (scroll to the bottom paragraph)

This kind of ignorance ranks right up there with people thinking Koalas are bears. For shame, people.

Heh - would have no clue about the national anthem.
Hell, I sometimes have trouble remembering the name of ours, even though I know the words.
As far as the koala thing though - I suspect that misconception comes from how they are commonly referred to as "koala bears." :)

Our national anthem is "Advance Australia Fair". I only know the first verse though - I never much paid attention in school to learn the whole thing. LOL.

Ah sis, you're so mistaken it's so sad! Koala's are marsupials, hence not bears. Infact, their closest relative is the Wombat.

Look it up and do some research ;)
